RESTON, Va., Dec. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a national security, health and engineering solutions company, was awarded a prime contract by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to provide information technology services in support of the Electronic Research Administration (eRA). The single-award cost-plus fixed-fee contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total contract value of approximately $113 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed in Bethesda, Md.
The eRA provides electronic systems support to manage the receipt, processing, review, award, and monitoring of billions of dollars' worth of research and non-research grants awarded annually. These grants are funded by NIH in support of the mission of improving human health.
Under the contract, Leidos will provide IT services necessary to support eRA in the development, maintenance, and implementation of systems that are designed to accommodate NIH and Department of Health and Human Services initiatives. Leidos will also provide design and development services to the government for all eRA program modules throughout the software development lifecycle. The end products shall be modules of production quality, which will enhance and integrate with the existing eRA modules and provide substantial new functionality.
