Leidos Awarded Contract By California Army and Air National Guard
Company to Provide Architectural and Engineering Services
RESTON, Va., Jan. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Leidos [NYSE: LDOS], a national security, health and engineering solutions company, announced it was awarded a prime contract by the California Army and Air National Guard (CAARNG/CAANG) to provide architectural and engineering services for planning and facilities. The multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of $80 million for all awardees, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed primarily in California.
The CAARNG/CAANG's mission is to provide support to civilian authorities during domestic emergencies, and conduct foreign contingency operations with speed, strength, and efficiency when ordered to duty. Under the contract, Leidos will provide architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and environmental design for construction, repair, and alternation of multi-use facilities and base utilities. These projects will require multiple-discipline engineering services in investigation, design, and inspection. Leidos is one of eight contractors eligible to compete for task orders under the contract.
"Leidos is excited to be selected by the California Army and Air National Guard to provide professional design services," said James R. Moos, Leidos engineering group president. "We've had an outstanding working relationship with the California National Guard for the last seven years, and we look forward to continuing that relationship and supporting the CAARNG/CAANG by providing architectural and engineering solutions that are right for today and years down the line."
The company, formerly named Science Applications International Corporation, changed its name to Leidos, Inc. on September 27, 2013 in connection with the spin-off of its former technical, engineering and enterprise information technology business, which has assumed the company's former name. Leidos has submitted a change-of-name agreement to the U.S. government to recognize the name change, which is currently under review by the responsible Defense Contract Management Agency contracting officer.
