RESTON, Va., July 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a national security, health and engineering solutions company, was awarded a prime task order by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide development, support and maintenance of the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). The single-award time and materials task order has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total contract value of approximately $44 million if all options are exercised. "The CDC's efforts with the National Healthcare Safety Network are a priority for the nation, and we are proud to continue our support in building a healthcare surveillance system that enables public health officials across the country to make more informed decisions and improve health outcomes for our citizens," said President of Leidos Health Steve Comber.
