LEGO Systems Celebrates 15 Years at San Diego Comic-Con
SAN DIEGO, July 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON -- LEGO Systems, Inc. today announced a slate of activities and events to commemorate 15 years of fun at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), including never-before-seen life-sized LEGO® models, 2016 product reveals, one-of-a-kind giveaways and exclusive retail sets related to the hottest LEGO properties. Fans will have a chance to win limited edition LEGO minifigures and exclusive SDCC LEGO building sets will be available for sale. Attendees are invited to build with thousands of LEGO bricks and elements, then display their creations at booth #2829 in Hall D of the San Diego Convention Center July 8-12.

LEGO® Star Wars™
The company previews a 2016 LEGO Star Wars First Order Stormtrooper buildable figure, and unveils a life-sized model of the film's new Stormtrooper. LEGO Master Builders used 35,525 bricks over 325 hours to design and build this never-before-seen LEGO model. A limited edition LEGO Star Wars Dagobah™ Mini-Build playset will be on sale on Saturday, July 11. Collectors and fans will love the updates to a custom LEGO Star Wars minifigure display case that now includes every LEGO Star Wars minifigure made from 1998 to the first half of 2015.
LEGO Super Heroes: DC Comics™
During the four-day event, a 2016 LEGO Super Heroes: DC Comics building set based on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice™ will be previewed. The highly anticipated film's Super Hero trifecta is immortalized in a custom tryptic LEGO mosaic built from 82,944 LEGO bricks, featuring stars Henry Cavill as Superman™, Ben Affleck as Batman™ and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman™, plus their LEGO minifigure likenesses, rotating above the booth. Also on Thursday, July 9, an exclusive LEGO Super Heroes: DC Comics Action Comics #1 Superman set will be available for sale, and a LEGO minifigure giveaway of iconic DC Comics character Arsenal™ will be conducted. An exclusive LEGO Super Heroes: DC Comics comic signing with the writer and illustrator will take place in booth on Thursday, July 9, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
LEGO MARVEL Super Heroes
A 58" x 136" x 67" LEGO diorama of Marvel's Hulkbuster™ and the Hulk™, as seen in the blockbuster hit Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron™, built from 100,643 LEGO bricks, will be displayed. An exclusive SDCC LEGO set, LEGO Super Heroes: MARVEL Throne of Ultron, inspired by the film, will be on sale on Friday, July 10, when a LEGO minifigure giveaway of All New Captain America™ (Sam Wilson) also occurs. Sunday, July 12 at 2:45 p.m., a discussion on development of LEGO Super Heroes: MARVEL – toys, animation and video game – will be conducted by LEGO designers Marcos Bessa and Adam Corbally, Jason Cosler, LEGO content development, Cort Lane, VP Marvel animation and partnerships, Mike Jones, Marvel executive producer, and Arthur Parsons, TT Games director. LEGO Ninjago™
To celebrate the June 29 Cartoon Network season premiere of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu™, a life-sized LEGO model of iconic Ninjago apprentice, Lloyd, "rappels" into the LEGO booth. A richly detailed new LEGO Ninjago Temple of Airjitzu building set, launching August 1, 2015 in LEGO Stores and on shop.LEGO.com will be displayed for the first time. Sunday, July 12 at 1 p.m., a LEGO Ninjago panel discussion featuring Tommy Andraesen, senior LEGO creative manager, Maarten Simons, senior LEGO designer, Dan and Kevin Hageman, writers of Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu television series, and Keith Malone, LEGO content director, provides insight on developments in the iconic toy property. LEGO Scooby-Doo
Jinkies! A diorama of life-sized 2D LEGO comic replicas of Shaggy, Scooby, Fred, Daphne and Velma, plus their iconic Mystery Machine, assembled by LEGO Master Builders from 70,875 LEGO bricks, will be on display in the Warner Bros. booth #4545. The display is in advance of the brand new LEGO Scooby-Doo construction sets hitting shelves on August 1.
LEGO Jurassic World™
A life-sized LEGO model of Chris Pratt as Owen on his motorbike, based on the blockbuster film, Jurassic World, and constructed by LEGO Master Builders from 86,844 LEGO bricks, will be on display in booth. Fans may also get up close and personal with four life-sized raptors – Blue, Delta, Charlie and Echo – constructed from more than 303,243 LEGO bricks, at Nerdist's Conival takeover at Petco Park.
LEGO BIONICLE®
On Saturday, July 11, an exclusive LEGO BIONICLE Skull Scorpio Mask will be given away via drawing.
LEGO Ideas
Fans of Warner Bros. Television's hit comedy series, The Big Bang Theory™, will have the first opportunity to see the fan-inspired LEGO Ideas The Big Bang Theory building set that will be available for purchase beginning August 1, 2015. The set features LEGO minifigures of Leonard, Sheldon, Penny, Howard, Raj, Amy and Bernadette, along with the iconic living room, as seen in the series.
2015 LEGO GIveaway and Exclusive Retail Set Drawing Details
The company announced a new procedure for its famous show exclusive sales. While purchase and fulfillment of exclusive show sets will take place in LEGO booth #2829, attendees must first visit the Pavilion Terrace to participate in a random drawing to qualify to buy, starting as early as 7 a.m. daily. Each of the three exclusive retail sets will be sold on separate days of the show, with a limit of one set per attendee per day. Ticket to buy must be redeemed on the same day or purchase is forfeited.

LEGO giveaways remain unchanged. Show attendees should visit the Sails Pavilion each day beginning at 12:30 p.m. to enter a drawing to qualify for the giveaway, to be fulfilled on the spot while supplies last. Each of the three LEGO giveaways will be distributed on different days via daily drawing during the show. One drawing per person per day.
