CARLSBAD, Calif., Sept. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- California-based Legend3D, Inc., an innovative 3D visual effects and conversion company, today announced the promotions of three key players: Anthony Lopez to Chief Information Officer, Jared Sandrew to Chief Creative Officer and Matt Akey to EVP of Production and Chief Marketing Officer.

Jared Sandrew arrived at Legend3D in 2010 and has been instrumental in pushing the creative and technical goals of the company forward. During his tenure at Legend, he has shaped the stereoscopic look and feel of many of the world's most critically-acclaimed 3D releases including his work with Zack Snyder on Man Of Steel, and with Chris Miller/Phil Lord/Chris McKay on The Lego Movie. He also developed the first 4K conversion pipeline and is spearheading Legend3D's corporate expansion into VFX and Virtual Reality. In his new role as Chief Creative Officer, Jared will continue to collaborate with filmmakers on the 3D aesthetic of their stories, stretching the boundaries of quality and efficiency in stereoscopic filmmaking. Jared is a member of the International 3D Society and a contributor to the VES Visual Effects Handbook.
Matt Akey oversees the successful completion of all of Legend3D's film conversions and is the company's primary liaison to both filmmakers and studio clientele. In addition to heading up Legend's new business and marketing initiatives as EVP of Production and
Chief Marketing Officer respectively, Matt successfully produced the 3D conversion work on Man of Steel, The Amazing Spider-Man (1 and 2), Hugo, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Green Hornet, the Shrek trilogy and The Smurfs (1&2). Prior to joining the company in 2010, Akey worked on the Emmy award-winning series Back at the Barnyard while serving as Production Manager at Steve Oedekerk's Omation Studios. He holds an M.F.A. in Film Producing.
In his new role as Chief Information Officer at Legend3D, Anthony Lopez will continue to lead the technology and development initiatives and spearhead the constant innovation of the company's state-of-the-art 3D and VFX pipelines. An Executive IT professional with more than 15 years of experience in the Entertainment industry, Lopez received a Lumiere award on behalf of Legend3D from the International 3D Society in 2013, for Legend's robust 3D conversion pipeline. Prior to joining Legend in 2010, Lopez was Director of Technology at Steve Oedekerk's Omation Studios where he oversaw IT, Pipeline Development and created the international infrastructure that supported two high-profile animation series for Nickelodeon Animation.
Legend3D currently has a 60,000 sq. ft. production studio in Carlsbad, California and just completed a state-of-the-art 3D review hub in Hollywood.
