PATERSON, N.J., June 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Legal-Bay LLC, The Lawsuit Settlement Funding Company which operates lawsuitssettlementfunding.com, reported today that a video went viral this week that showed a Chicago cop apparently "stomp" a man's head during arrest.
According to news sources, witnesses have said that the man was running from police and seemed to be resisting arrest when he was taken to the ground by the one officer. The video, that was posted to Facebook on Monday, then shows another Chicago officer kick the man's head while he was down.
According to CBS local, the officer involved has been "stripped of his police powers and placed on desk duty, pending an investigation" into the video that was released. The Independent Police Review Authority has launched an investigation into the incident that took place in the 3900 block of West Grenshaw Street.
The man, who was identified by family members as 24-year-old Shaquille O'Neil, according to NBC Chicago, "was knocked unconscious and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The hospital said he was listed in fair condition Monday evening."
