LEED Gold Certification in Tulsa for World's Largest Car Rental Company

Enterprise's Shared Services building has been outfitted with design features such as large windows that provide ample natural light – reducing energy costs and providing the more than 730 Enterprise Holdings employees working on-site with open and inviting workspaces. Additionally, the new location offers proximity to the city and easy access to public transportation.

Other highlights of the Tulsa Shared Services facility include:

• Water-efficient landscaping designed to reduce water consumption and achieve a 35-percent overall reduction in water use, limiting impact on local aquifers.
• Thermal comfort features and controls that work to improve indoor air quality, including advanced ventilation controls and HEPA filtration for the title vault and license plate storage rooms.
• A 54-percent reduction in electric power used for lighting, reducing the environmental impact of using energy supplied from coal-fired power plants.
• Recycling 85 percent of the project construction materials to reduce impact on landfills.
• Use of locally sourced construction materials to reduce transportation impacts.

"With this particular project, we faced a number of challenges, including working within the existing infrastructure of the building and being connected to the main areas of the mall," said Willey. "But the entire team, including the property owner, our contractors and other suppliers did a remarkable job in working together to ensure that everyone was on board and understood what it was going to take to earn the LEED certification."
