WASHINGTON, April 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- DTI Management, the leading distributor of live event tickets to online resale marketplaces, today announced the appointment of Lee Shenker as President of DTI. The addition of Shenker, an accomplished and well-respected industry player, further demonstrates DTI's commitment to bring together the best minds in ticketing with the brightest minds in technology.
Shenker will report to CEO Curtis Cheng and oversee the day-to-day operations of all aspects of DTI's business, including the technology and 1Ticket, which was acquired by DTI in late December 2016. One of his top priorities will be creating a new, state-of-the-art version of DTI's technology platform that will provide ticket brokers and rights holders with all of the tools and services they need to succeed in the ever-changing ticketing industry, and interface seamlessly with DTI's online marketplace partners.
Building on nearly 20 years of experience, Shenker started his career in ticketing by launching First 15 while in graduate school. He joined ASC Ticket Company in 2010 as both an owner, and its Vice President & General Counsel. The Maryland-based company is one of the largest inventory holders in the secondary market, and is well known for the efficiency of its operations. During his tenure at ASC, Shenker was responsible for overseeing all of the company's operations and technology strategies. ASC tripled its annual sales without having to increase staff head count to support that growth.
"This an exciting day as we welcome Lee Shenker to our DTI family," says Curtis Cheng, CEO of DTI. "He is the perfect person to upgrade our technology platform, and to integrate and maximize the potential of 1Ticket. My confidence in Lee runs so deep, if he were to take a game-winning shot, I'd celebrate before the ball hits the net. DTI is driven to deliver the best for our brokers and Lee will help us lead the secondary ticketing market into the future."
"I'm thrilled to be joining DTI as its president", says Shenker. "For the past 18 years, I have had the privilege of watching the secondary ticket market grow and mature. Curtis and the DTI team have been at the cutting edge of that evolution. At DTI, I look forward to working closely with the brightest minds in ticketing and technology, as we continue developing industry-leading tools and services for DTI's broker members, marketplace partners, and content owners."
Shenker earned his Bachelor of Arts at Tufts University in 1999. He received his JD and MBA degrees at Boston College in 2003. Shenker is currently licensed to practice law in the state of Maryland and is a member of the StubHub Seller Advisory Board and the Ticket Network Broker Council.
