LEDs Magazine Recognizes the Lighting Industry's Best at Second Annual Gala Dinner
NASHUA, N.H., March 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sapphire Awards Gala Dinner, held on the night of March 2, 2016, celebrated the best and brightest in the solid-state lighting (SSL) industry by naming the second annual LEDs Magazine Sapphire Award winners. The event, held in conjunction with Strategies in Light and The LED Show in Santa Clara, CA, spotlighted the SSL-centric innovations that are revolutionizing the lighting market and also greatly impacting applications in life sciences, industrial processes, manufacturing, and many other specialty areas.
Maury Wright, Editor-in-Chief of LEDs Magazine, and Christine Shaw, Publisher of LEDs Magazine, hosted the event that featured top-flight entertainment and ultimately the awarding of the Sapphire trophies.

Companies working across the LED and solid-state lighting sectors nominated well over 100 products to be considered for the second annual Sapphire Awards, along with outstanding individuals or teams for the prestigious Illumineer of the Year award. Sapphire Awards judges ultimately considered products across 15 technology categories ranging from SSL Enabling Technologies to Packaged LEDs to ICs and Electronic Components. The judging process also undertook the great challenge of identifying an 'Illumineer of the Year.' During the gala dinner, the best of the best took home the Sapphire trophies after the late-night celebration.
