Led by YouTube Stars Juanpa Zurita and Jérôme Jarre, "Love Army" Team Reunites to Launch GoFundMe for Mexico Earthquake Relief
After raising over $2.7 million for Somali famine relief, social media stars start "Love Army México" GoFundMe after devastating earthquake
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sept. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Building on the success of the Love Army for Somalia campaign, YouTube stars Juanpa Zurita and Jérôme Jarre, along with the Love Army team, have launched a "Love Army México" GoFundMe to help on-the-ground relief after last week's devastating earthquake struck central Mexico. A native of Mexico, Juanpa is joined by Ben Stiller, German Garmendia, Lele Pons, and others in rallying their social media audiences to support this fundraising effort. Previously, these social media stars worked together to raise over $2.7 million for Somali famine relief.
In the campaign, Juanpa writes, "We've decided to use our platforms to show the rest of the world the true heart of Mexico. We've started this GoFundMe, and we're going to get as many of our friends around the world to donate and share it. We want to create a bridge between the heroes on the ground and people around the world who want to help but aren't sure how."
In one day, the Love Army México campaign has raised half of its goal.
