LeCroy Introduces AMC Interposer to Support Protocol Analysis for PCI Express® 2.0 Data Rates
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- DesignCon -- LeCroy Corporation, a leading supplier of oscilloscopes and serial data test solutions, today introduced a new PCI Express Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) Interposer that supports PCI Express data rates up to 5 GT/s (PCIe 2.0). The new AMC interposer, designed for use with the LeCroy Summit™ PCI Express Protocol Analyzers, extends the ability to easily analyze data traffic between AMC mezzanine cards and their respective host systems into much higher data rates than previous products.
AMC cards are modular add-in cards that attach to a carrier board or backplane to add additional functionality (such as I/O). AMC is considered the telecommunication industry's mezzanine standard and has been extended to supporting PCI Express 2.0 in both AdvancedTCA® as well as MicroTCA systems. In the past, the tight physical tolerances between compact AMC mezzanine cards and host systems slots have made it difficult to probe protocol traffic over the AMC interface. The new interposer provides the ability to easily tap into the data traffic, while maintaining signal integrity by re-driving all data signals. This allows the equipment under test to function normally while data traffic is analyzed and any protocol problems are quickly identified and solved.
"MicroTCA and ATCA application developers that are integrating PCIe 2.0 AMC modules onto next generation designs can now utilize LeCroy's extensive suite of PCIe 2.0 protocol analysis equipment," said John Wiedemeier, Product Marketing Manager for PCI Express Protocol Solutions, LeCroy. "LeCroy is committed to developing tools for today's high speed serial communication applications that help engineers get their work done quickly and ensure high reliability for their customers."
LeCroy protocol analyzers have been at the forefront of PCI Express development tools. All LeCroy protocol analyzers feature a hierarchical display, real-time statistics, protocol traffic summaries, detailed error reports, powerful scripting, and the ability to create user-defined test reports, which allow developers to troubleshoot intricate problems and finish their projects on time.
