LeClairRyan Webinar to Focus on Implications of NLRB and DOL Actions in Support of Organized Labor
RICHMOND, Va., July 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The implications of recent National Labor Relations Board and Department of Labor actions in support of organized labor will be the focus of a free webinar on August 4 from noon to 1:00 p.m. presented by veteran LeClairRyan labor attorney Mark B. Goodwin.
The National Labor Relations Board and the U.S. Department of Labor are taking aggressive new actions to support the agenda of organized labor including:
- A proposed rule on union representation elections that could mean balloting would occur 10 to 20 days after a petition is filed, drastically reducing time available for employers to oppose the union;
- A complaint against Boeing seeking to force the company to dismantle its new aircraft manufacturing operation in a Right to Work state and instead manufacture the planes with union labor in Washington State;
- New persuader reporting requirements for law firms and their clients that would chill employer free speech and access to counsel in union organizing campaigns.
During the webinar, Goodwin will discuss these and other developments, their implications for employers and what employers should consider doing now.
Those wishing to register for the webinar can do so until August 4 at 10:00 a.m. via the LeClairRyan website: www.leclairryan.com, click on the "Events" tab and select the link for "NLRB and DOL Step on the Gas: Implications for Employers."
