LeClairRyan Announces New Firm Leadership
Elizabeth K. Acee named President; Thomas C. Regan appointed Litigation Department leader
RICHMOND, Va., Feb. 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- LeClairRyan today announced that Elizabeth K. Acee has assumed the role of President, sharing senior-executive duties with current Chief Executive Officer C. Erik Gustafson.
Based in LeClairRyan's New Haven, Conn. office, Acee had served as the firm's Litigation Department leader since 2016. She has practiced on the firm's labor and employment team since 2008.
"Lizz has been an essential partner and leader in helping address the changes being driven by shifts in the legal marketplace, particularly as we move toward a next-generation law firm model," Gustafson said. "Our Board of Members shared in my enthusiasm in elevating her to the President role. This signals not only the firm's commitment to that vision, but also confidence in her ability to lead us forward."
The new role is part of the firm's continuing growth in its strategic alliance with UnitedLex, ULX Partners, which provides market-leading technology, process innovation and resource management to deliver maximum value to clients and streamline the law firm business model.
Concurrent with Acee's appointment, LeClairRyan member Thomas C. Regan, has assumed the role of Litigation Department leader. From his base in Newark, N.J., Regan has practiced with the firm since 2008, focusing on the management and defense of large dockets of cases filed in multiple jurisdictions. He had served as leader of the firm's largest practice team, Products Liability and Transportation, since 2015.
Gustafson noted that Regan's reputation as a go-to source of knowledge across the firm made him an easy choice as Acee's successor.
"Tom's unflappable presence has earned him loyal clients across two decades of practice," Gustafson said. "His drive to pursue new and innovative ways of doing business will serve the firm well in the coming years."
