LeClairRyan Adds Two Partners - Announces Sacramento Expansion
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --To further support its client-driven business strategy, the law firm of LeClairRyan has announced its expansion into Sacramento on January 1, 2015, under the leadership of former Nossaman partners Robert S. McWhorter and Kevin T. Collins. McWhorter will oversee the ongoing operations of the firm's Sacramento office, adding to a presence in the state that already included offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
"Investing in client relationships is the foundation on which LeClairRyan was built. Our focus on adding exceptional talent to enhance our firm's growing capabilities is driven by a single goal, to meet the ever evolving needs of our clients," said LeClairRyan Chief Executive Officer David C. Freinberg. "By opening an office in Sacramento, we are able to provide our clients with a greater depth, breadth and reach of representation in matters of business counsel, corporate law and litigation. We are committed to our client-driven strategy and plan to expand our presence throughout California."
McWhorter, an experienced commercial litigator, has focused his practice on bankruptcy, business torts, franchise litigation, lender liability, and other business and corporate litigation. For more than 20 years, he has practiced bankruptcy and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on corporate and financial services litigation. McWhorter currently represents national banks and federal lending institutions in residential and commercial lender liability actions.
"It is not often that a growth opportunity arises in one's career as significant as that provided by LeClairRyan," said McWhorter. "We are excited to take part in LeClairRyan's aggressive growth strategy and to develop and lead the new Sacramento office."
Collins is an experienced trial lawyer who focuses his practice on complex litigation. He represents clients in a wide variety of areas including class actions, multi-district litigation, real property, products liability, construction, public law, receiverships, and antitrust litigation. Additionally, Collins has almost 20 years of experience representing public agencies, cities, counties, and special districts, including having served as General Counsel for one of the largest public entities in Sacramento County.
While the firm evaluates its options regarding permanent office space in Sacramento, the team will operate out of short-term, leased space in Sacramento.
