LEATT Wins Two Design and Innovation Awards
Prestigious Award Viewed as Industry Seal of Approval
CAPE TOWN, South Africa, Jan. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Leatt Corporation (OTCQB: LEAT), a developer and marketer of protective equipment and ancillary products for sports, especially extreme high-velocity sports, announced today that its Leatt DBX 2.0 Helmet and 3.5 Neck Brace have each won a 2018 Design & Innovation Award.
The Design & Innovation Award ("DIA") is both a seal of approval and the benchmark achievement for the bike industry's highest-performing products awarded by a select committee of international journalists, professional test riders, and industry experts who invest more than 6,000 hours of their time to partake in the DIA process. The DIA process involves the decisive testing of nominated products in the real world, assessing them in their entirety and reaching considered verdicts. The DIA committee awarded this special honor to the company's DBX 2.0 Helmet and to its new lightweight, affordable 3.5 neck brace, introduced as part of the trail-specific gear in the company's 2018 Bicycle Line.
Leatt CEO, Sean Macdonald commented, "We view the selection of Leatt's gear for Design & Innovation Awards as a clear validation of our technologically-advanced products that address the unique high-performance and safety requirements of cyclists. We believe that this award demonstrates that our approach to research, development and testing not only delivers new and innovative protective equipment products that meet the design and safety needs of high-velocity sports participants, but are also recognized by the industry as best-in-class."
"Today's athletes demand the best, and again and again, Leatt is proving its ability to develop and launch what we believe to be the most advanced and safest gear for high-velocity sports," added Mr. Macdonald. "We expect that awards like this and the feedback from our loyal customer base will continue to help us expand our sales and increase market share."
DBX 2.0 Helmet
The DBX 2.0 Helmet was recognized by the DIA committee for its high level of comfort and for being an outstanding value for the price. The helmet is equipped with 360º Turbine Technology that helps reduce the risk of head impact at concussion level by up to 30% and rotational acceleration to the head and brain by up to 40%. It is well-ventilated, lightweight and equipped with a breakaway visor. The Leatt DBX 2.0 is highly comfortable and is an admirable option for safety-conscious mountain bikers, bringing Leatt's DH-proven safety technology to bikers at an attractive price point.
