Leatt Products Win Two Design & Innovation 2016 Awards
Bicycling Industry Honors Lightweight Helmet, Waterproof Hydration Pack as 'Most Innovative Products'; New Helmet Website Launched
CAPE TOWN, South Africa, Feb. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Leatt Corporation (OTCQB: LEAT), a global developer of personal protective equipment for all forms of sports, including extreme sports, and whose products include the flagship Leatt-Brace®, announced today that two of its unique, revolutionary protective product designs have won the prestigious Design & Innovation Award 2016 honors for the bicycle industry.
The Design & Innovation Award was established by bicycle industry experts to shape the bicycle world in a positive way and to serve as a forum for creativity and visionary ideas. In furtherance of this mission, the Design & Innovation jury seeks to recognize bicycles and bicycle products and annually honors the bicycle industry's "most innovative products." Among this year's winners were the Leatt DBX 5.0 Composite Helmet and the Leatt DBX Enduro Lite WP 2.0 Hydration Pack. The Leatt DBX 5.0 Composite Helmet for bicycles, one of six Leatt helmet designs created specifically for bicycles, redefines head and brain protection with its groundbreaking 360 degree Turbine technology for concussion and brain rotation safety. The helmet offers superior head and brain protection in a shell that is smaller, very lightweight and super ventilated, even at low speeds.
The Leatt DBX Enduro Lite WP 2.0 is a lightweight, fully-welded waterproof hydration pack with a multi-impact, level 1 back protector. Its unique chest harness is designed to ensure a very solid fit, making a waist strap obsolete and eliminating the bag hitting the rider's helmet while going downhill. It also includes bottom jacket/protector storage straps, a heat resistant encapsulated bladder pocket and a strap system for full face and/or MTB helmet.
"We are very proud to have been recognized by the Design & Innovation jury of bicycle industry experts," said Sean Macdonald, CEO of Leatt Corporation. "These prestigious awards again demonstrate that innovation and creativity continue to be hallmarks of the Leatt brand. While protection and safety are always foremost for us, our engineers and designers are also focused on blending comfort and ease of integration into our complete array of lightweight designs. We remain dedicated to being product leaders in all our product industries as we continue to serve the professional and amateur riders who enjoy our products and are our best ambassadors."
Leatt highlighted its new helmet and related product designs during an official helmet launch on January 12 this year and garnered a bevy of positive responses from members of the media in attendance. For more information on Leatt's innovative helmet designs visit: www.leatthelmet.com.
