SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Jan. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Lear Corporation (NYSE: LEA), a global automotive technology leader in Seating and E-Systems, announced a collaboration to integrate Lear's Intu™ comfort and wellness seating system into Rinspeed AG's newest and smallest autonomous concept vehicle, the microSNAP.
Lear's Intu™ system, jointly developed by Seating and E-Systems engineers, is comprised of a full suite of intelligent technologies that demonstrate enhanced passenger comfort, wellness, entertainment and safety.
"At Lear, we understand how important it is to create a driving experience that dynamically adapts to the consumer," said John Absmeier, Lear's Chief Technology Officer. "Our Intu seating technologies provide simple and intuitive solutions for optimizing comfort and wellness. The Rinspeed microSNAP will showcase technologies that will allow passengers to individualize the in-vehicle experience and provide limitless options for the future."
BioBridge™ is Lear's smart, non-intrusive biosensing technology that utilizes radio frequency (RF) sensing to read passengers heart and respiratory rates. It also detects stress and drowsiness and activates corresponding seating treatments, like heat and massage, to help prevent distractions and promote safer driving. With preset modes like sport, comfort, wellness and more, ProActive™ Comfort intelligent seat adjustment technology can be customized to changing preferences—all without fumbling around on the side of the seat to find switches. It is a simple, intuitive solution for optimizing passenger comfort.
Lear's Intu seating system will be featured in the world premiere of the Rinspeed microSNAP at the 2019 Las Vegas CES in the Hard Rock Hotel on January 7, 2019. It will also be on display at the Geneva Motor Show on March 7, 2019.
