Leanplum Helps Marketers Increase App Engagement With New iOS 10.3 Features
Leanplum Announces First-to-Market Support for Built-In App Store Reviews & Dynamic App Icons
SAN FRANCISCO, March 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Leanplum, the leader in mobile marketing, announced day one support for the new capabilities of iOS 10.3, the update Apple launched today. As the first to support iOS 10.3's new features, Leanplum is empowering mobile marketers to capitalize on the newest innovations in app engagement, such as built-in App Store reviews and dynamic app icons.
Built-In App Store Reviews
Leanplum has found that brands who run campaigns prompting reviews from their most engaged users can improve App Store ratings by ½ to 1 additional stars. In iOS 10.3, Apple now lets users submit app reviews inside the app, rather than routing users to the App Store. This change will increase the likelihood of a review, and reduce interruption to the user flow.
To curb overuse, Apple's App Reviews API will restrict app publishers from asking users to review their app more than three times per year. Leanplum enables marketers to segment their most engaged users and ask for a review at the perfect time. By A/B testing a variety of approaches, marketers can get the most from limited review requests to drive up five-star App Store reviews.
Dynamic App Icons
Together Leanplum and iOS 10.3 enable app teams to dynamically change their app's icon and personalize to each user. Marketers can easily A/B test different icons to determine which drives the best engagement.
Increased Personalization
Mobile app teams can now personalize their icon based on an individual user's location, interests, language, behavior, and more. For example, a travel app could alter its icon color to match a user's loyalty status or a sports app could change its icon to match their favorite team.
Integrated A/B Testing
With Leanplum, mobile app teams don't have to build their own logic to modify or A/B test the app icon. Marketers can easily serve dynamic app icons in many variations and test for the best performer before a full rollout. This gives app teams more actionable insights into the performance of new designs to continually improve customer delight and app performance. It also helps them determine if maintaining multiple app icons generates more engagement or makes the app less recognizable.
"The mobile app marketplace is more crowded and competitive than ever before. However, iOS 10.3 ushers in exciting new capabilities to help mobile marketers personalize their apps, drive greater user engagement, and deliver business growth," said Momchil Kyurkchiev, Leanplum co-founder and CEO. "In today's complex marketing world, Leanplum is on a mission to make mobile marketing easier, and being the first to deliver support for iOS 10.3 underscores our dedication to our customers and their growing success."
