The conversation was led by Diana Abehssera, Patient Experience Lead at Leal Health and featured a conversation with colorectal cancer patient, Tim Kavanagh, who is based in Vermont and currently undergoing treatment in New York. Emphasizing the pivotal role of patient empowerment, Tim highlighted the invaluable support offered by patient-centric organizations like Leal Health and the American Cancer Society. The conversation also spotlighted the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge program, an initiative that provides free lodging and support to cancer patients and their caregivers during treatment. With Hope Lodge boasting over 30 locations nationwide, it annually contributes more than 500,000 nights of free lodging, resulting in savings exceeding $15 million.
