Leading Workforce Researcher Kenneth Matos Joins Life Meets Work
Life Meets Work Expands with Custom Research Services
CHICAGO, April 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Life Meets Work (www.lifemeetswork.com) announced today that Dr. Kenneth Matos has joined the firm and will lead the development of new custom research services. The new service line will focus on custom qualitative and quantitative studies to guide, assess, and improve workforce engagement and retention.
Matos brings a wealth of industry experience, having spent the last five years as the senior director of research for Families and Work Institute (FWI), a nonprofit research institute focused on the changing workplace and changing family. Prior to FWI, Matos conducted research for the Department of Defense.
"Offering custom research capabilities is an important step in providing the full service consulting services our clients need to make better decisions about their workforce strategy. This move reflects our commitment to being an expert advisor on employee engagement, wellbeing, productivity and retention," said Kyra Cavanaugh, president of Life Meets Work.
Matos' work, leading FWI's research efforts, was regularly the focus of national media attention. His research has been featured by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Business Week, CBC, NPR, and the Today Show. His publication, "Modern Families: Same and Different Sex Couples Negotiating at Home," received international coverage and his work on the National Study of Employers provided essential benchmarks for organizations looking to evaluate their policies.
Matos said, "I believe in the vision that Kyra and her team have created, where tailoring how you recruit, develop, and deploy human capital to your unique organizational needs, is essential to advancing a business and its stakeholders. I look forward to working with our clients to identify and answer the next generation of HR questions that will guide their businesses into the future."
Cavanaugh added, "We've had the opportunity to partner with Ken on numerous projects over the years and I've come to admire his perspective and his leadership. We jumped at the opportunity to have him on our team. With the talent market heating up, American workplaces need expert insight—now more than ever—on how best to engage and support today's workers."
