Leading Locally: Companies Rev-Up Economy on Home Turf

Jason Beans, CEO of Rising Medical Solutions (Rising), has been named to Chicago's short list of Smart Leaders for 2010. The selection process was multi-tiered:

• Local business advisors scouted out companies that are setting the pace of growth for Chicago;

The Smart Leaders Awards Program, hosted by Smart Business and US Bank, will be held on October 21 at 11:30 a.m. at The Metropolitan Club in the Willis Tower, Chicago, Ill. Selim Bassoul, CEO of The Middleby Corporation, will speak about the vital role innovation plays in fueling economic growth.

Beans is just one of ten Chicago leaders honored in this program for his positive impact on the local economy. Also making the list are Nancy Ruscheinski, President and COO of Edelman; Amanda Lannert, President of Jellyvision Lab; and Bill Skeens, Founder of Prairie City Bakery. The leaders cover a range of industries, from healthcare to advertising to manufacturing to food service.
