Leading International Trade Attorney Joins Brinks in D.C. Office
Reiziss adds insider expertise to firm’s growing ITC practice
CHICAGO and WASHINGTON, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., has expanded its new Washington D.C. office with the addition of Jay H. Reiziss, a leading international trade attorney. His experience includes 12 years as an attorney with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), where Reiziss handled more than 50 international IP disputes while serving in a succession of roles in the Office of General Counsel, the Office of the Chairman, and the Office of Unfair Import Investigations.
"We believe that Jay Reiziss is the only attorney practicing in the private sector who has served in each of these three discrete capacities at the ITC," said Brinks president Gary M. Ropski. "He is uniquely qualified to provide Brinks' clients with unparalleled insights into the ITC's process."
Brinks' ITC practice represents Fortune 500 companies in patent, trademark and customs matters, and includes more than 30 attorneys with legal and technical degrees from around the world. "By adding Jay's experience to the firm's depth in technology and IP litigation, Brinks is well positioned to meet our clients' ITC needs," explained ITC Practice Chair Laura Beth Miller.
In addition to handling section 337 investigations, Reiziss will assist clients with antidumping and countervailing duty issues at the ITC, as well as customs-related projects. "Jay is a perfect fit for our D.C. office, which we recently opened to meet our clients' increasing needs in the areas of international trade and unfair competition," added D.C. Managing Partner Thomas L. Holt.
Reiziss is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association and the ITC Trial Lawyers Association. He has been admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Court of International Trade. He holds a J.D. magna cum laude from American University and a B.A. from Rutgers University.
