Leading Analyst Firm Positions Verizon in the Leaders Quadrant for Global and Pan-European Network Service Providers
READING, England, May 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading industry analyst firm Gartner Inc. has placed Verizon Enterprise Solutions in the Leaders quadrant in the firm's two reports – "Magic Quadrant for Global Network Service Providers"[i] and "Magic Quadrant for Pan-European Network Service Providers."[ii]
Both reports evaluate providers that can deliver fixed corporate-networking services on a global and Pan-European basis. Offerings evaluated by Gartner include voice, data and managed network services including multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) and IPsec virtual private networks (VPNs), and Ethernet services and SIP trunking. This is in addition to value-added services such as security, unified communications and data center services to enterprise customers across multiple geographies.
Positioning in the Gartner Magic Quadrant is based on the ability to execute and completeness of vision.
Farooq Muzaffar, Verizon's vice president of product development and network integration, said: "We've continued to invest heavily to expand our high-IQ networks globally, including our 100 Gbps deployment on portions of our U.S. and European network and our recent network expansions in Africa, Middle East and Asia. Verizon's networks, advanced technology platforms and industry-specific solutions are creating new business opportunities for our customers worldwide."
According to the Gartner reports: "Leaders have a full portfolio of voice and data products, coupled with above-average service and support, wide European/Global coverage and competitive pricing. They have a strong vision that includes adopting more information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities, which is a strategy they articulate clearly and openly."
Verizon has also recently been positioned in the Leaders quadrant for Asia-Pacific Network Service Providers.[iii]
