Where Does Disease Begin?
"All disease starts at the cellular level and inflammation is the root of all disease. Our 32 years of clinical research with patients at Total Health Institute has enabled us to really view how diet and lifestyle along with supplemental micronutrients affect inflammation and disease. Biochemically speaking macronutrients and micronutrients are the big players that turn on and turn off inflammation. One of the chief goals in our research is to teach patients how their food choices affect their health. For example at Total Health Institute we have a class on the power of garlic. Even though most people do not like to eat raw garlic in their food, after viewing the class and seeing the research of how garlic shrinks tumors, 95% of our patients start eating garlic. Total Health Institute is both a treatment and a teaching facility because you cannot have one without the other or else all improvements in a patient's health will be only temporary," states Dr. Nemec.
Dr. Keith Nemec's next step will be the Ph.D. degree program in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine. His area of focus for research is the cellular environment of health and disease and how macronutrients and micronutrients affect cellular inflammation.
Dr. Nemec has been teaching on all aspects of natural and alternative health care on daily radio in Chicago for the last sixteen years. Dr. Nemec also emails teaching through Total Health Institute's website totalhealthinstitute.com.
