The Women's Council promotes the mission of the CU Deming Center for Entrepreneurship, supports its programs and events, and nourishes entrepreneurially minded students and business leaders of the Front Range community to live up to their potential as business leaders.
The WILD one-day career leadership Summit provides a forum for women of all ages and professions to learn, engage and share their wisdom with a dynamic network of students, professionals and educators. Sessions throughout the one-day, information-packed venue will be offered to encourage meeting other WILD women and aspiring leaders and entrepreneurs. Participants will discover new ideas, including the market trends driving opportunities for women to lead and affect lasting change. The WILD Summit will inspire attendees to achieve their professional goals – whether to seek out knowledge and insight or share their story with tomorrow's leaders. It will focus on key trends within some of today's fastest growing and dynamic industries among other timely and provocative topics.
"Supporting the Women's Council and women's development benefits everyone in our economic ecosystem here on the Front Range," said Cindy Carrillo, event chair for the inaugural WILD Summit and former chair of the Women's Council. "We'll be hosting 300 dynamic leaders - from students through highly successful and nationally recognized professionals - to share their experiences, challenges, successes and wisdom that come with the never-ending process of leadership development and the drive for excellence."
"WILD" -- A Stellar Leadership Program
Carrillo says the Summit will emphasize the continuum of leadership development, as there is always something to learn, regardless of age, position or industry. Shelly Lazarus, chairman Emeritus of Ogilvy and Mather, long-time advocate of promoting women's leadership in the workplace, will provide the keynote for the event. Ogilvy and Mather also has agreed to be the Summit's title sponsor. Participants will engage in lively discussions on timely, relevant, educational and provocative content with more than 20 speakers and panelists discussing topics ranging from Natural Foods and Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Education, Social Ventures and Sustainability, Business and Mass Communications.
"One tremendous value of networking with these amazing and accomplished women is realizing that you are not alone – that whatever situation you're struggling with, someone in this group has worked through something similar and has some good insights to offer," said Anne Sandoe, director of MBA Programs at the Leeds Business School at CU. "Advice, support, encouragement, inspiration, friendship – these people are an amazing resource!"
