Leaders In Metro Detroit's Arts, Education, Business and Political Community Will Engage In a Spirited Dialogue On The Topic: 'Art...A Catalyst For Change?' Hosted By Daimler Financial Services
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., April 28 /PRNewswire/ --
WHAT: Art, education, business and politics will converge for a spirited community dialogue when leaders of Metro Detroit's Arts Community engage in a discussion on the positive influence of art in the daily lives of Metro Detroit's citizens on the topic: "Art … A Catalyst for Change?" hosted for the second year in a row by Daimler Financial Services in Farmington Hills. Last year's event drew over 300 people.
WHO: The Metro Detroit panelists are:
Terry Blackhawk is the founder and director of Detroit's acclaimed InsideOut Literary Arts Project, a poets-in-schools program serving over 5,000 youth per year.
State Sen. Hansen Clarke (D-Detroit) -- His artistic ability landed him a scholarship at Cornell University, where he received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in painting. He went on to earn a law degree from Georgetown University.
Aaron P. Dworkin is the Founder and President of the Sphinx Organization. An accomplished electric and acoustic violinist, he received his Bachelors and Masters of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan School of Music, graduating with high honors.
Reed Kroloff is the director of Cranbrook Academy of Art and Art Museum in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and an independent architectural consultant and commentator.
Rick Sperling is an award-winning actor, director and playwright with over 25 years of experience in the dramatic arts, and developing educational theatre programs for young people. Rick founded Mosaic Theater in Detroit in 1992.
The panel will be moderated by James Ryan, head of Communications for Daimler Financial Services. Following the panel discussion, violinist John Sanderson, a Sphinx Laureate, will give a short performance.
