Layered Tech Selects Kurt Hoffman as Chief Operating Officer

PLANO, Texas, April 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Layered Tech, a leading global provider of secure and compliant cloud and hosting services, announced that Kurt Hoffman has joined the Executive team as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).

As Layered Tech COO, Hoffman will oversee all operations and technology groups within the company, including IT architecture and service delivery, compliance, product management, software development, and customer support. Hoffman will report directly to Layered Tech CEO Bruce Chatterley.

Hoffman comes to Layered Tech with more than 30 years of technology and operations experience and a proven ability to lead high-performance teams in high-growth environments. In his most recent position he served as COO for Hawaiian Telcom, overseeing day-to-day technology, product development, and sales and marketing operations for Hawaii's leading provider of integrated communications solutions. Prior to that, Hoffman was COO of Speakeasy, playing a leading role during a period of sustained strong growth for the broadband and hosting services provider, including its acquisition by Best Buy in 2007.

Hoffman also brings significant international experience to his new role at Layered Tech, having previously served as Senior Vice President for Network Deployment and Operations for Level 3 Communications. In this position, he managed Level 3's build out of its fiber optic network across Europe. His international experience also includes his tenure as Sprint/Global One's Vice President of Global Operations, based in Belgium.
