Layaway Santa is at it Again
But, this year he's encouraging his entire community to get in on the act.
THE VILLAGES, Fla., Dec. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Parady Financial Group Philanthropic CEO Greg Parady may be best known as the Layaway Santa who paid off over $20,000 worth of layaway Christmas gifts for 76 families at a Wal-Mart in The Villages, Florida. His unexpected generosity in 2013 garnered international and national attention from CNN, MSNBC, The Today Show, Time Magazine, Good Morning America and The Huffington Post.
He may soon be known as the guy who convinced his entire community to pay it forward.
Mr. Parady purchased and handed out over $30,000 in VISA gift cards ranging from $10 to $100 increments and asked individuals to participate in a pay it forward campaign for this holiday season. The response was incredible! Cards recipients loved the experience so much that they began purchasing additional visa gift cards so they could give them to their children and grandchildren to enjoy the experience of paying it forward.
Then Mr. Parady asked a local elementary school if they would participate in the pay it forward campaign. He engaged the entire 4th grade at The Villages Elementary of Lady Lake which has approximately 140 students with $25 gift cards. Since becoming a father himself last year, his soft spot for children has become well known in his local community.
