Lawsuit Filed for Rape of Mentally-and-Physically-handicapped woman on DART Paratransit Bus
DALLAS, Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The guardian of a woman with Down's syndrome filed suit today in federal court in Dallas, Texas against Dallas Area Rapid Transit Bus Service, LGC, MV Transportation, Inc., and the bus driver.
The suit states that a DART paratransit driver raped the handicapped woman two times before her family discovered what had happened. The suit also states that although the identity of the driver was revealed recently on November 7 by MV Transportation, DART refused to release the identity of the bus driver. DART has also refused to return the woman's two pairs of ripped underwear.
Turley Law Firm attorney, T Nguyen, who represents the rape victim, said: "The DART police refused to discuss its investigation and referred me to DART's legal department. There is something seriously wrong when a company at the center of an alleged rape controls the police. We will discover the truth and hold the wrongdoers accountable."
