Lawrence E. Jones Joins EEI as Vice President, International Programs

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) announced today that Lawrence E. Jones, an executive with two decades of international experience, has joined EEI as Vice President, International Programs.

Prior to joining EEI, Lawrence spent the past 15 years of his career with Alstom Grid Inc., most recently as Vice President, Utility Innovation & Infrastructure Resilience, where he assisted utilities worldwide with formulating strategies for deploying new technology solutions. While at Alstom, Lawrence also served as Vice President, Policy, Regulatory Affairs & Industry Relations for the international full-service electric generation and transmission firm.

Lawrence is a member of numerous U.S. and international industry advisory committees, and serves as Co-Chair of the 21st Century Power Partnership Leadership Forum, as a member on the U.S. Department of Commerce's Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee, and as a member of the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology's Smart Grid Advisory Committee.

Lawrence was born and raised in Monrovia, Liberia - West Africa. He lived in Sweden for more than a decade, where he received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and his Ph.D. in Power Systems Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
