LAWCLERK Clio Integration Makes It Easy for Small Firms to Tap Online Legal Marketplace
New Integrated Dashboard Improves Profitability by Streamlining Collaboration on Calendaring, Importing and Exporting Documents, Billing and More
LAS VEGAS, Aug. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- LAWCLERK, an online marketplace of over 1,000 freelance lawyers nationwide, today announced integration with Clio, the industry's most comprehensive cloud-based practice management platform for the legal industry. With a single click, Clio's 150,000 legal professionals can now take advantage of LAWCLERK's freelance lawyer marketplace to begin managing projects through a familiar Clio interface while increasing profitability. The seamlessly integrated dashboard streamlines collaboration on a variety of tasks, including time tracking, managing project status and deadlines, importing documents and uploading files.
According to the 2017 Clio Legal Trends report, lawyers currently spend nearly half (48 percent) of their time every day on non-revenue-generating administrative overhead like project coordination, which is non-billable and eats into law firm profitability. LAWCLERK's new integration with Clio dramatically reduces time spent performing non-billable tasks like shuffling documents back and forth, tracking project timelines and manually entering data across multiple systems, making it much easier for law firms to profit from a flat-rate billing model.
"After experiencing first-hand LAWCLERK's integration with Clio, we were blown away by how tightly integrated it is and how quickly we could run projects through LAWCLERK's network of freelancers," said Ryan Johnson, Johnson & Johnson Law Offices. "We will definitely use the marketplace again for our next project."
The new LAWCLERK/Clio integration includes a variety of time-saving features, including the following:
- Calendar deadlines: All project deadlines set in LAWCLERK will automatically sync to the associated Clio matter to ensure deadlines are not missed.
- Sync tasks: When an attorney posts a new project on LAWCLERK, the project instantly shows up as a task in the associated Clio matter.
- Import and export documents: Hiring attorneys can quickly and easily import documents directly from their documents file into the associated Clio matter to provide LAWCLERK freelancers with the information they need to complete projects. Once a project is finished, the freelancer simply uploads the final document submission to the project library, and those document files are exported to the documents file in the associated Clio matter.
- Billing: Freelancers can quickly enter their time directly into the LAWCLERK dashboard and the entries will automatically sync to the hiring attorney's Clio matter for billing – no need for manual re-entry.
"I recently had the pleasure of using the Clio / LAWCLERK integration, and right off the bat I was surprised at how easy it was to turn on the integration," said Jerry Carter, Law Offices of Jerry Carter. "When I set up the LAWCLERK project, it was similarly easy to associate the project with the relevant Clio matter. At the conclusion of the project, when the law clerk completed his time sheet, his hours and time descriptions went straight into the Clio matter without a hitch. Overall, I was impressed with how simply and seamlessly the integration worked."
"Our integration with Clio reflects LAWCLERK's ongoing commitment to creating a leaner business model for legal practitioners by lowering overhead costs and ensuring the highest level of service and compliance with the ethical rules," said Greg Garman, CEO and Founder of LAWCLERK. "We are big proponents of using technology to operate more efficiently, and the savings we've seen beta testers achieve through the integration are proof positive that we've succeeded with the community of Clio users."
