Law Firm Reaches $400,000 Settlement for Clients Injured Outside of DC Nightclub

WASHINGTON, Nov. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Partner Joseph Cammarata and Associate Matthew Tievsky of the Washington, D.C. law firm Chaikin, Sherman, Cammarata & Siegel, P.C. have recovered $400,000 on behalf of clients who were injured as a result of a fight that occurred outside of a nightclub in Washington, DC. The firm filed the lawsuit in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia (2012 CA 008614 B, 2012 CA 004536 B).

According to the lawsuit, the firm's clients had been attending a holiday event at the nightclub. At one point during the night, patrons of the club became rowdy and the event was stopped. The nightclub forced all patrons to leave the facility. Outside, fighting continued and the firm's clients were stabbed and / or shot. One client was shot to death.

In response, the nightclub claimed it had no responsibility to protect patrons from the criminal acts of unknown assailants.
