Lavallee Brensinger Architects taps Ginger Desmond to lead Science and Research Lab Planning and Design
BOSTON, Jan. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Lavallee Brensinger Architects is pleased to announce that C Ginger Desmond AIA LEED AP has joined the firm as a Principal and Lab Planner to help lead the firm's growing reputation as a regional leader in science and research facilities. A graduate of Tulane University, Ginger has 25 years of experience, with a focus on buildings for the Sciences. Through her career, she has leveraged knowledge across multiple architectural disciplines ranging from healthcare, medical education, and clinical facilities to college and university teaching and research facilities as well as corporate biotech, pharmaceutical and research laboratories, allowing her to find synergies and design options that draw from her range of experience to maximize potential solutions for Clients. Having served as the co-chair for Women in Design at Payette Associates, presented at SCUP 2016 Regional Conference, and with a focus on mentoring young architects and actively participating in community art events, Ginger's dedication to her profession and peers have been widely acknowledged. Most recently with HDR, Ginger's prior experience includes the nationally recognized Boston firms of Shepley Bulfinch, Payette, and Ellenzweig, where she worked on a variety of notable projects throughout Eastern United States.

Ginger's recent projects include a variety of scientific spaces, including the iSQ (Innovation Square) Seaport building in Boston, a 130,000 GSF new, lab-ready LEED® Silver currently under construction for scientific, biotech, and pharmaceutical needs, and included preliminary design for the fit-out of a confidential client. Other recent notable experience includes multiple projects at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, including the new Williamson Translational Medical Center and Borwell Pathology renovation. Recent clients also include Tufts University, North Eastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Brigham & Women's Hospital, DCAM, and Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
