Launching of Level 1 ADR Program for GRUPO SURA's Preferred Shares
MEDELLIN, Colombia, March 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- With its common stock listed on the Level 1 ADR program for more than three years now, Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana – GRUPO SURA – shall be extending this program today, March 9, to cover its new preferred, non-voting shares. These ADRs shall be traded on the OTC ("Over-the-Counter") market in the United States, under the symbol "GIVPY"

Each of GRUPO SURA's ADRs shall represent one (1) of the Company's preferred, non-voting shares. Consequently GRUPO SURA shall have the following two ADRs trading on the US market.
- The Level 1 ADRs corresponding to the Company's ordinary or common shares, traded under the symbol "GIVSY" since October 2008. Here one ADR represents two (2) ordinary or common shares.
- The Level 1 ADRs corresponding to the Company's preferred, non-voting shares, traded under the symbol "GIVPY". Here one ADR represents one (1) preferred, non-voting share belonging to Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana.
Our Level 1 ADRs consisting of common stock shall continue to be traded in the same manner as before, under the symbol "GIVSY".
GRUPO SURA has performed well over the past three years as part of the ADR Level 1 program, with its ordinary shares gaining greater momentum. We currently have 287.628 Level 1 ADRs outstanding with this program, representing 575.256 shares. In just this past year (from February 2011 to February 2012) our ADRs have risen by 85.5% and continue to awaken a great deal of interest on the part of our international investors.
It is important to note that this new listing of ADRs does not imply any new issue of shares neither does it entail any additional funds for the Company. The purpose of this listing is merely to enhance share liquidity for this new issue of preferred stock.
