LATINA Style Names Kaiser Permanente a Top 10 Organization for Latinas
Organization Honored for Outstanding Achievements in Workforce Diversity
OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaiser Permanente has been ranked No. 10 by LATINA Style magazine on the publication's list of the 50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work for in the United States.
The LATINA Style survey, now in its 14th year, is an evaluation of corporate America's appreciation for the value of diversity in the workplace and identifies the organizations in the United States that are providing the best career opportunities for Latinas. Kaiser Permanente was among 800 organizations included in the extensive research.
"We are honored, once again, to be ranked among LATINA Style's best companies in America," said Raymond Baxter senior vice president, Community Benefit, Research and Health Policy, Kaiser Permanente. "At Kaiser Permanente, we recognize the value of having a diverse workforce and we work hard to ensure all of our employees have opportunities for professional growth. We pride ourselves in creating an environment in which our employees and members feel valued and included."
Organizations are evaluated based on workplace issues that LATINA Style readers identified as most important to them.
Among the principal areas of evaluation are: number of Latina executives, mentoring programs, Latina board members, educational opportunities, alternative work policies, dependent/child care support, employee benefits, women's issues, job retraining, affinity groups and Latina relations.
The LATINA Style 50 Companies will be honored on Feb. 9, 2012, during LATINA Style's Diversity Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.
Earlier this year, Kaiser Permanente was ranked No. 1 on the 2011 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity® list. Additionally, for the third consecutive year, Kaiser Permanente was named No. 1 on Diversity MBA Magazine's 50 Out Front for Diversity Leadership: Best Places for Diverse Managers to Work. Also, Kaiser Permanente was honored as a leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality in the 2011 Healthcare Equality Index report. The report, published by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, details the results of this year's Healthcare Equality Index, an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
