WASHINGTON, July 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Known for delighting audiences around the world, Latin music's hottest new artist singer-songwriter Prince Royce will kick off the nation's premier Hispanic Heritage Month Event by performing the national anthem and a special musical tribute at CHCI's 34th Annual Awards Gala, hosted by ExxonMobil.

The 22-year-old musical sensation has created his own genre by blending the Dominican Republic bachata sound with contemporary pop and rhythm and blues. Winner of four 2011 Billboard Latin Music Awards and three 2011 Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, Prince Royce's rendition of "Stand by Me" became the first bachata song to be played on English-language pop radio stations in the United States. His self-titled debut album, "Prince Royce," became a mainstream success as it climbed to the top of the music charts. In April 2011, it became the number one album in the country, an extraordinary achievement for an emerging Latin artist. Recently Royce inked a deal with Atlantic records and Top Stop Music to jointly release his next albums in both English and Spanish.
At the 34th Annual Awards Gala on September 14, Prince Royce will charm and entertain nearly 3,000 Latino leaders, influencers, and supporters at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
CHCI's Annual Awards Gala is the signature event in CHCI's Hispanic Heritage Month Events that include the Public Policy Conference and Reyes of Comedy.
