Analyst Update: Financial Results and Secondary Offering
U.S. stocks advanced on Thursday, recovering from their previous two disappointing sessions, as better than expected weekly jobless claims report boosted sentiment. The NASDAQ Composite gained 0.53%, to close at 4,945.54, the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.46%, to 17,924.06, and the S&P 500 ended the day at 2,088.00, up 0.38%. European stocks were mixed on Thursday. Germany's DAX 30 rose 0.51%, while France's CAC 40 and the London's FTSE 100 were down 0.29% and 0.67%, respectively, on Thursday. Meanwhile, Asian markets closed lower on Thursday amid rising concern over a potential policy shift by Chinese stock market regulators. The Shanghai Composite, Australia's S&P ASX and Japan's Nikkei all fell on Thursday.
On May 5, 2015, Build-A-Bear Workshop reported results for the 2015 first quarter (ended April 4, 2015). Consolidated net retail sales were $91.7 million in Q1 FY 2015, down 5.3% YoY, primarily due to the negative impact of the one-week calendar shift due to fiscal year 2014 having a 53rd week and strengthening US dollar.
ClubCorp Holdings, a leading owner-operator of private golf and country club in North America, on May 5, 2015 announced the pricing of a public offering of 12,000,000 shares of its common stock at $20.75 per share, representing a 1,000,000 share increase over the previously announced offering size.
Pacific Sunwear, on March 25, announced its fourth quarter and FY 2014 operating results as well as issued guidance for Q1 FY 2015. Net sales for Q4 FY 2014 were $231.6 million, up 5.9% from $218.6 million in Q4 FY 2013.
Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO), on May 5, 2015 announced its Q1 2015 financial results (ended March 31, 2015). The Company's revenue almost halved from $33.3 million in the first quarter of 2014 to $17.1 million in Q1 2015, reflecting a full quarter of print and digital media operations with Meredith.
Golar LNG Partners announced preliminary fourth quarter and FY 2014 results with net income attributable to unit holders of $36.7 million for Q4 FY 2014, as compared to $47.6 million in the same quarter a year ago.
