Editor's Note: This is the latest update and again corrects an earlier premature report about lifting of restrictions on the Northeastern Extension of the Turnpike
HARRISBURG, Pa., March 14, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PennDOT continues to post 45 mph speed restrictions on Interstates 78, 81, 83, portions of Interstate 80, and all of Interstates 176, 180, 283 and 380 and Routes 22, 33, 283 and 581.
Vehicle restrictions also continue on Interstate 81 north of the junction with Interstate 80 and Interstate 84 remains closed to all truck traffic. The speed restriction on Interstate 80 runs from the junction with Interstate 180 to the New Jersey line.
All restrictions were lifted earlier from Interstates 70, 95, 99, 76 (the Pennsylvania Turnpike) and Interstate 476, the Blue Route in suburban Philadelphia. Restrictions continue on the Northeastern Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
On Interstate 81 north of Interstate 80, the restriction bans tandem trailers, empty trailers, buses, motorcycles, recreational vehicles and towed non-commercial trailers. Loaded single trailer, tractor trailers are not covered by the restrictions.
