Latest issue of aiCIO Features Top 40-under-40 Chief Investment Officers
List represents global oversight of hundreds of $billions of assets and dispels two misconceptions
NEW YORK, April 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The March/April issue of aiCIO features its first ever list of the top 40-under-40 Chief Investment Officers. These individuals, primarily under age 40, oversee the assets of some of the world's foremost pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments and other non-profit institutions.
"Even in the investment industry there is a widespread misconception that CIOs at the tiller of major pools of capital are, at a minimum, on the cusp of middle age," said Kip McDaniel, editor-in-chief. "This list punctures that fallacy and contains some of the more innovative, dynamic and respected professionals across the investment landscape."
According to McDaniel, another broadly-held misconception is that CIO positions are largely limited to men, especially at the largest and most visible funds. "Our 40-under-40 list includes six women who have broken into this men's club and it is my guess that we will see that number expand in in the decade ahead," he said. These six include:
