Last Chance to Make Reservations for the Golden Quill Awards
PITTSBURGH, May 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Guarantee your place now for The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania's 47th annual Golden Quill Awards presentation, Monday, May 9, 2011, at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel, 300 W. Station Square Drive, Pittsburgh. Reservations must be received by Friday, May 6, at 9 a.m. by Pam Thompson at 412-804-8847 or [email protected]. Tickets are $50 each, $500 for a table of 10.
Winners of the Golden Quills competition, recognizing professional excellence in written, photographic, illustration, broadcast and online journalism in Western Pennsylvania, will be announced at the event. See the list of finalists at www.westernpapressclub.org.
Also that evening, Marilyn Brooks, retired senior medical editor for WTAE-TV news, will receive the President's Award, honoring lifetime achievement in journalism.
The Press Club will also honor radio station WDUQ-FM with this year's Service to Journalism Award.
Adam Wagner, a native of the Pittsburgh area and a junior at Ohio University's Honors Tutorial College, will receive the 2010 Press Club of Western Pennsylvania's Scholarship for aspiring journalists.
The Golden Quill Awards evening will start at 6 p.m., with a cash bar and reception. Dinner and the awards ceremony will follow at 7 p.m.
