The second in a series of three new broadcast and digital spots, "Postcard" tells the story of a woman who receives a handwritten note from her husband about a previously undisclosed trip to Las Vegas two-weeks prior. Met with his wife's less than enthusiastic response, the husband stays true to the WHHSH trademark by not revealing any details of his trip.
"With television still serving as the No. 1 source of inspiration for travel to Las Vegas, the 'What Happens Here, Stays Here' spots continue to attract travelers, as well as reinforce the brand's promise of adult freedom," said Cathy Tull, senior vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. "Our goal is to encourage travel and remind potential visitors of the only-in-Vegas experiences awaiting them in the destination through humorous and relatable stories."
All filmed in Las Vegas, the three new WHHSH commercials were directed by Frank Todaro, who is also credited with numerous high-profile spots for brands, including Nike, Budweiser, Polaroid, American Express and many more. The series includes "Sketchpad," "Postcard" and an additional spot, which will be introduced in fall 2016.
Now in its 14th year, the WHHSH campaign continues to appeal to consumers by providing simple, authentic and relatable storytelling. The iconic campaign embraces the brand's ideals of adult freedom and shows how Las Vegas is an inclusive and welcoming destination.
