New advertising campaign supports new website while highlighting destination amenities
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Las Vegas, one of the world's most exciting travel locations, has launched LasVegas.com, the only official website for the destination. Owned and operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), the ultimate Las Vegas expert, the website will offer visitors comprehensive and reliable information to aid their travel bookings. In addition to purchasing air and hotel packages, shows and more, LasVegas.com offers up-to-date insider destination information, planning tools and itineraries.

"No other destination offers the entertainment, dining and overall experience that Las Vegas offers," said Cathy Tull, senior vice president of marketing for the LVCVA. "We host nearly 40 million annual visitors, with more than half of them using the internet to plan their trips. Now, LasVegas.com will provide an easy tool for our guests to research and book their ultimate Las Vegas vacation."
The official website will be supported by an all new advertising campaign. The central character, seen throughout the campaign, is your typical American male who happens to share his name with the website for one of the most famous and popular travel destinations in the world. He is Mr. Las Vegasdotcom. Shot in a faux documentary style, the ads follow Las through his daily routine as people pepper him with questions about show tickets, hotel accommodations and more. In response he refers them back to the actual website. Beyond promoting using the website for booking these activities, the campaign also educates viewers about Las Vegas' many amenities and attractions – from the well-known entertainer Celine Dion at Caesars Palace to the secret pizza restaurant at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
The new campaign's first ad debuts Jan. 7 on national and cable networks. It is also available for viewing at Facebook.com/LasVegas and YouTube.com/LasVegas.
Photos and video of Las Vegas are available at LVCVA.com/PressRoom.
