Las Vegas' IMAGINE DRAGONS Tour in Support of Debut EP for KIDinaKORNER /Interscope Records -- Continued Silence
SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- KIDinaKORNER /Interscope Records recording artist IMAGINE DRAGONS have announced that they will tour in support of their debut EP Continued Silence, available on Grammy award winning producer Alex Da Kid's (Eminem, Rihanna) label. The band will tour North America along with The Jezabels and select dates with Benjamin Francis Leftwich. The tour commences April 10 in New York City at The Bowery Ballroom and will hit major cities before wrapping in May.
"There is something deeply personal and yet incredibly exciting about sharing new songs with a live audience for the first time," says lead vocalist Dan Reynolds. "We can't wait to take these songs on the road and have that communal experience with old friends and new faces."
Having released three independent EPs and making a name for themselves on the West Coast live circuit, IMAGINE DRAGONS — which is Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermon (guitar) Ben McKee (bass), Daniel Platzman (drums) — bring their epic, larger-than-life live show to stages across the country in support of their 2012 EP Continued Silence. Arms-in-the –air choruses are intensified by the hip hop beats of producer Alex Da Kid. "We had been moving in this direction," Reynolds says. And when the group met with Alex Da Kid the result was nothing short of explosive.
The LA Weekly calls their songs, "arena worthy anthems." Check out a short video performance clip of "It's Time," the first single from Continued Silence shot for the upcoming television series Audio-Files, airing in April 2012: http://youtu.be/KZ0CHS1tGpY.
Hailing from Las Vegas, the quartet harnessed the restless energy of "the city that never sleeps" with two EP's in 2009 — Imagine Dragons and Hell and Silence — earning a string of local accolades, including becoming the "Most Requested Band of 2010" on LOCAL 107.9, being chosen as a Vegas Music Summit Headliner, being voted "Best Local Indie Band 2010" by Las Vegas Weekly, and being awarded "Best CD of 2011" by Vegas Seven magazine. In 2010, they released their third independent EP It's Time.
Serious about the craft of songwriting, Reynolds and Sermon (a Berklee College of Music attendee and gearhead who grew up in a recording studio) met in college in Utah and later joined up with McKee, a friend of Sermon's from Berklee who dropped out, with one semester left, to join Reynolds and Sermon at their new home base of Las Vegas. IMAGINE DRAGONS are currently based in Los Angeles, where they met fellow Berklee alumni Platzman. The band is working on their full length release.
