Configured to roll around on a wheeled, dolly cart style configuration, Larson Electronics Magnalight began shipping the MGL15-480-120-10X120 portable power distribution panel. The powder coated steel frame carries a 25 foot 12/4 SOOW line in cable, 30 amp fused disconnect and 15KVA 480 to 120/240 transformer. On the secondary side, the transformer feeds a 125 amp main breaker NEMA 3R panel which protects ten 20 amp 120 VAC breakers. The 20 amp breakers protect the ten 20 amp 120 VAC outlets in weather tight boxes. The cart is configured to balance the 450 pound cart so that a single operator can tilt the unit back and roll the cart to a new position. A grounding lug is included for an earth ground. The portable power distribution panel can be picked from the top or lifted with a forklift, in addition to its own wheeled conveyance.
"This portable power distribution panel system represents a common requirement from our customers for taking 480VAC power and making it available for a wide variety of 120VAC single phase tools and lights," said Rob Bresnahan with Magnalight.com. "However, we can configure this unit for a wide variety of single and three phase arrangements that meet the customer's requirements. We use a potted transformer in this configuration and we can make the cart in stainless steel of aluminum to meet the needs of the customer's environment."
