The Larson Electronics PLM-18-2X1000W Pneumatic Light Tower provides innovative design in a full power lighting package the gives operators in demanding environments that ability to quickly yet safely deploy full power lighting wherever it is needed. Ruggedly constructed and featuring over 200,000 lumens of light output, this tower will illuminate over 2 acres effectively, yet can be easily deployed in minutes by one person. The heart of this system is an adjustable three stage tower that is powered by compressed air provided by an included 1/3rd horsepower compressor. While most moderately sized light towers require the operator to extend the boom using a hand winch, this tower reduces the labor and set up time involved by allowing the operators to extend the tower to its full 18 feet of height simply by running the compressor. This pneumatic operation provides almost effortless deployment while also providing easier and safer take down since all that is necessary to lower the mast is to release the pressure via an included release valve, whereupon the tower will gently lower to its collapsed 8 foot height. The lamp assembly consists of two 1,000 watt metal halide fixtures producing 110,000 lumens each mounted with their own independent bracket. The lamps feature 19 inch housings formed from spun aluminum with a tempered glass lens for durability and heat resistance. Each fixture is independently adjustable to allow precise coverage without dark spots and excessive beam overlap, and combined the lamps produce 220,000 lumens of crisp white light in a wide flood pattern for maximum coverage. The lamps are attached to the mast with a 24 inch long by ¼ inch thick mounting plate which can be removed to allow the entire lamp assembly to be stowed before transport for safer handling. The lamps are connected with watertight connectors and feed into a main cable routed internally through the mast for a clean appearance and protection against abrasion and damage. The PLM-18-2X1000W can be mounted to almost any stable flat surface capable of safely supporting this tower's 380 lbs weight, and a 12 inch square mounting bracket predrilled for ¾ inch bolts provides easy installation. This tower is ideal for mounting to trailers for mobile use, and can be used to illuminate large scale work sites such as roadway construction or mining operations where high power and even coverage is important to safe work conditions.
"The PML-18-2X1000W pneumatic light mast assembly is ideal for operators building their own oilfield trailers," said Rob Bresnahan with LarsonElectronics.com. "While we can build entire light plants for customers, we also offer crank up and pneumatic masts for fabricators, rental shops, etc. to build their own light towers, trailers and platforms."
