Larsen Receives Endorsements From Mountainside Republican Club and Financial Literacy Partnership

GREEN BROOK, N.J., April 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Rallying concerned voters across District 7, David Larsen has received several key endorsements, including the Mountainside Republican Club and Bridgewater-based Financial Literacy Partnership.

"I nominated David Larsen at the Union County Convention because I believe in what he's fighting for," says William M. Sanders, President, Mountainside Republican Club.  "Being a small business owner like me, David won't vote for legislation that hurts businesses and costs us jobs, such as Cap and Trade.  Lance received calls 20 to 1 against Cap and Trade, but he ignored them.  We need a representative who will listen to us and take seriously the concerns of the people and that's David Larsen."

The Financial Literacy Partnership endorsed Larsen for different reasons.  "We endorsed Larsen for his strong belief in financial literacy and education.  David understands the importance of teaching kids the value of money at a young age and continuing that training until they reach adulthood," said Ken Lee, Executive Director of the Financial Literacy Partnership, a non-profit organization promoting financial literacy training for youth.  

"I'm in full agreement with Bill Sanders on Cap and Trade.  Implementing legislation such as Cap and Trade right now would further hurt our already ailing economy," says Larsen. "Cap and Trade would institute more regulation on American businesses, which means more government control, equating to higher prices for us, the consumers.  It also translates into more job losses, creating a loss of security, homes, income, and net worth for the American people.  Lastly, it limits our freedom and the ability to make choices that better our lives."

On financial literacy, Larsen says, "I believe it's important for our children to be acclimated into handling finances both in their personal lives and looking forward to their business and professional lives.  Instead of being overly reliant on credit and living beyond one's means, financial literacy training helps young people to focus on savings and building tangible assets that can be passed on from generation to generation.  We need to teach children how to use their ingenuity, talents and imagination to create jobs and positively contribute to our wonderfully diverse culture and society."
