"I picked this location because in many ways it represents the heart of the 7th District, a busy corridor where people live, work and shop, trying to build a better life for themselves and their families," says Larsen.
The owner of Sansone Plaza welcomed Larsen as a renter. "David needs to win because I don't recognize my country and I want my country back," says Rose Sansone.
Larsen anticipates that the office will be fully staffed within the next several weeks. The office currently has a fresh coat of paint, equipment from nearby stores and comfortable furniture, all designed to welcome voters and engage conversation on topics meaningful to them.
"People have a lot on their minds. I want to listen first, learn about what's important to them, and lead the way in Washington for those issues to be addressed," says Larsen. "Right now, our voices -- the voices of the people -- have been shut out of Washington. It's time for that to change."
Larsen cites out of control government spending and his current Representative's disconnect with the people as the chief reasons why he is running for Congress. He points to Leonard Lance's voting record on key issues such as cap and trade -- an energy tax on business -- as an example of why fresh faces and ideas are needed in Washington.
"Lance was only in office for three months when he was given the Porker's Award by Citizens Against Government Waste (www.cagw.org)," states Larsen. "It's time to bring common sense budgeting to Washington and get rid of pork barrel spending. Our country just can't afford it anymore."
The owner of Larsen Windows and Doors, the candidate has lived in Oldwick for 15 years, where he owns a farm and raises American Quarter horses.
"I know what it's like when you're responsible for the livelihood of real people and their families and that's the kind of accountability I want to bring to Washington," says Larsen. For more information, go to www.davidlarsenforcongress.com or visit David Larsen on Facebook and Twitter.
