Statement from Chairman Elliot F. Kaye Regarding Recall of LaRose Industries Cra-Z-Jewelz Ultimate Gem Jewelry Machines
"I pledged CPSC staff would conduct a swift and thorough investigation and take all appropriate action to protect children - and that is exactly what has happened. Lead has a devastating effect on developing children and has no place in children's products, especially toys. I am committed to using all of our authorities at CPSC to prevent exposure of children to harmful chemicals and heavy metals in consumer products. Parents and caregivers should take these jewelry kits away from their kids right away and request a refund from LaRose Industries right away. I appreciate Attorney General Schneiderman and his staff bringing this case to our attention and being an extra cop on the beat as we work to make the marketplace even safer for all children."
Elliot Kaye, Chairman
