Laplink® Announces Free Migration Tool Replacing Windows Easy Transfer®

BELLEVUE, Wash., July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Laplink Software, Inc. announced today that the latest version of PCmover, optimized for Windows 10, is available for no cost at http://www.laplink.com/freePCmoverWin10.

The free software, called PCmover Express, transfers user profiles, data, and settings. PCmover Express is free only for personal noncommercial use and only if the destination PC is running Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. Commercial users must purchase a license for the unrestricted version of PCmover Express, which is priced at about $20.

In 2014, with Windows Easy Transfer no longer supporting XP users, Laplink and Microsoft partnered to provide PCmover Express for Windows XP, a free data transfer tool for XP users. That software is available at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/xp/transfer-your-data.aspx.
