Lantiq Names Executive to Intensify Focus on Telecom Carriers in Americas

MUNICH, NEUBIBERG, Germany and SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lantiq, a leading supplier of chips and software for broadband access and home networking, today announced that it has named Bill McDonald as Director Business Development.

McDonald has more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and semiconductor industries, in various technical, Sales, Marketing and Management positions. Most recently he was Director, Carrier Development and Relations at Ikanos Communications, where he managed the world-wide Carrier development activities for both Central Office and CPE solutions.

McDonald started his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a Member of the Technical Staff. He also has held Product Marketing and Product Management positions at Fujitsu Network Communications, Metro-Optix, Inc., Mahi Networks, Centillium Communications and Transwitch Corp.

McDonald received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and received his Master of Electrical Engineering degree from Cornell University.
